Kentucky expo center louisville ky8/14/2023 Kentucky’s finest were attempting to direct traffic, but they didn’t realize they just sent vehicles around the loop road in an endless circle where you couldn’t park. There are no food options anywhere close, but then again, leaving and returning due to the abysmal parking isn’t really an option anyway. The surrounding neighborhoods do not feel safe. The food options have become the butt of many jokes as the Kentucky Pork Producers/Cattleman’s association has a cornering whatever fried meat you can serve to athletes. There is zero cell or reliable WiFi service (a requirement for volleyball tournaments for schedules and scores). The Kentucky Exposition Center is one of the top 10 largest public facilities of its kind. 40,277 likes 278 talking about this 436,218 were here. Once you get inside, the facility is dated-the bathrooms smell terrible and are typically out of soap and towels. Kentucky Exposition Center, Louisville, Kentucky. The Kentucky Expo Center, for a facility of its size has THE WORST traffic and parking flow of any stadium/convention center/arena I have ever been to-and I’ve been to a lot!! Mornings mean arrivals at the venues at 7am and afternoons are arrivals at 2. The schedules are always the same.a morning wave and an afternoon wave. There are 1000s of players and parents, coaches and officials who descend upon these centers for two and sometimes 3 days in a row. For those who don’t know, club volleyball tournaments are always held in a city’s convention or expo center. We travel a lot for Volleyball all over the country. Each year we comment just how miserable this place is. We have been attending the Bluegrass Volleyball Tournament here for the past 5 years. Hard to believe that this is the first review for the Expo Center! I wish it was a better one, but honest feedback is always needed. This was complete chaos! I had heard so many great things about this facility that I was excited to experience it. We were told the athletes had a separate entrance, which is normal at these large tournaments but the girls were told to go back to the other entrances. When they opened the doors it was like a stampede. This isn’t helpful at all since we depend on our phones for tournament updates. The cell phone signal is terrible for all providers and they want you to pay for wifi. Parking is confusing and complete chaos with all the different barricades. We were delayed 3 hours after getting there at 6 am. I understand things happened but many teams had to be moved to a different time or off location. You would think you would have a better plan since this is the biggest tourney in the area that brings in teams from multiple states. Part of the building was running on one generator and were waiting on another generator since there was only partial and dim lighting where the volleyball courts were set up. This is my first time visiting The Kentucky Expo Center and I was not impresses! We were here for Bluegrass Volleyball Tournament and the day before the area was hit by severe weather causing several power outages.
